"He knoweht the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold."
Job 23:10
A spots person trains hard, that training can hurt, till they are of a standared to play in a top team.
A soldier is trained hard, till he/she will be a realiable part of the team, squad etc.
Job was greatly tried by God, he suffered much in his trials. In end he past the tests to such an extent that we read his story today.
Life is not easy, at times it hurts big time. My like, like the lives of others, is proof of this fact.
But its good for one's life to have purpose, even if acheiving that purpose means we experiance hard, painfull, times.
God is like a trainer, or sergent major, to His people. He brings us to hard, difficult, painfull times. He dosent do this because He enjoys seeing us hurting. He does it to make us the person He wants for us to be. That we may be more usefull to Him, to His Kingdom.

The Bible.
I have been a christian since the early 1970's. Spent three years studying theology, 30 years in ministry, now semi-retired. In all this time have read and studied the Bible. I am amazed how archeology, science, ancient history, shows the Bible to be an accurate account of what we read in it.
I wont say which English translation is best, that is not a debate I want to get into. Personaly I use the King James Version for personal study, but all will have different preferances.
History teaches me, that many gave up their very lives so that I could have the Bible, and freedom to read it. Some nations in the past, USSR for instance, tried to stop its people having Bibles. Mmmmmm, this book has been hated, why? Simply because it reveals the sinfull hearts, and phylosophies, of men and women.
In it we definatly have a narrow road, for instance it states Jesus is the only way to God, no other way to the Father. You can imagine, some really dont like that bit!
I read it every day, study it, am helped by it. Can I recomend it to you? Its well worth the read.
